AUB hosts its Inaugural Graduation Ceremony - 67 Medical Graduates awarded!

It was a momentous occasion for the American University of Barbados, School of Medicine, as it hosted its Inaugural Graduation Ceremony on Friday, January 31st, 北京福利彩票 at its campus in Wildey. Sixty-seven graduates from over seven territories formally received their certificates. The medical schools Academic Dean, Dr Kazmi conferred degrees on all the graduates. Present at the ceremony was Guest of Honor, Acting Prime Minister of Barbados, Santia Bradshaw, Minister of Technological and Vocational Training and Leader of Government Business. She congratulated the students on the completion of their journey at the university and also lauded the institution for its clinical affiliations in USA and other countries. She also thanked all the members of the faculty who were instrumental in the success of the graduates and also encouraged parents, mentors and friends to continue to support them as they begin another chapter of their lives.

The chief guest, Minister of Health and Wellness, Lieutenant Colonel Jeffrey Bostic congratulated the first batch of graduates and in his address spoke of partnerships between the university and his ministry regarding community wellbeing. He recognised the quality of teaching at the technologically advanced school and appreciated the commendable work done by AUB Community Clinic which is a charitable venture of the medical school and commenced in 2019. It involves free consultation and healthcare to the Barbadian community especially the sick and the elderly. He further added that such a gesture was good for the students as it opened their eyes to their civic responsibility to embrace the philosophy of the university.

AUB is proud of the achievements of its students and celebrates this new generation of health care professionals, educators and researchers.
